Common connection and sending errors
What each on-screen error means and exactly how to fix it.
Details
- “That Instagram account isn’t a Business or Creator account yet.” Switch it in Instagram → Settings → Account type, then reconnect.
- “We didn’t get permission to read comments or send DMs.” Reconnect and approve every permission Instagram asks for — automations won’t work with partial approval.
- “Instagram signed us out of @handle.” The connection token expired — reconnect from Accounts to resume; automations are paused, not deleted, until you do.
- “We can’t message @contact right now.” Instagram only allows messaging within 24 hours of their last message to you — this is a platform rule. They’ll get your message the moment they write back.
- “High activity on this post — sending as fast as Instagram allows.” A burst of comments queued faster than Instagram’s rate limit allows sending — it clears on its own, nothing is lost.
- “Sending is paused (kill switch is on).” Turn the kill switch off from Accounts to resume.
- “Monthly DM limit reached for your plan.” Upgrade, or buy a DM top-up to keep sending without changing plans.
- “Your last payment didn’t go through.” See Payment methods, invoices, and failed payments.
- “Too late to cancel — this broadcast already started sending.” A scheduled broadcast can only be cancelled while its send time is still in the future — see Scheduling, cancelling, and retrying a broadcast.
Any failed send also shows up in Activity with a Retry button — nothing fails silently.
